Costa Del Sol Beaches

Magnificent beaches and bright sunshine are the Costa del Sol's most valuable assets. With the average water temperature being 18C, rising to 24C in August, swimming in the sea is like bathing in a great big blue bath.

Most beaches feature small open-air bars or typical Spanish beach restaurants called chiringuitos typically serving a selection of fresh fish. As a rule the beaches with the best services - including deck chairs, toilets, lifeguards and security - are close to urban or residential areas. All kind of water sports equipment can be hired on the beaches or in one of many leisure ports along the coast.

Naturist Camps and Beaches

Throughout the Mediterranean resorts, there are beaches that are strictly reserved for those people who enjoy the naturist lifestyle. Andalucía is no exception and there are several beaches reserved for naturists including those located in Marbella and Benalmadena. These do not differ in the least from the more conventional Costa beaches and for example boast all the necessary facilities such as beach beds and umbrellas for rent plus a bar, restaurant - or both.

One of these beaches is Costa Natura, the first official naturist resort on the Spanish mainland. The beach front of Costa Natura extends over 650 yards. There is fine grey sand covered by shingle in places and a few rocks. Sun umbrellas and loungers are all available for hire on the beach.
